Monta Vista headed back to Cupertino High School for the El Camino League Championships on April 29, 2022.

Three freshman girls claimed championships for MVTF!  In the varsity division, freshman Clara Fan cleared 5’4″ to win the varsity high jump; this was a new PR for Clara and she is now only 2″ from the all-time Monta Vista high jump record.  Clara has added 10″ to her middle school personal best in her first season with MVTF.  Clara added a second place finish in the long jump with another PR of 16’8 1/4″.   In the junior varsity division, freshman Anika Bhandarkar had an incredible meet!  After winning the 3200m race by 18 seconds on Wednesday, Anika needed to win her Friday races with kicks in the last 200m as she earned personal bests of 5:43.59 in the 1600m and 2:39.40 in the 800m.  Anika came back to run a leg in the 4x400m relay team that won yet another championship for the MVTF JV girls!  Katie Lee almost matched Anika’s championship haul, as Katie won the 200m with a 28.01 personal record, ran legs in the relay teams that won both the 4×100 (including Jasmine Varma, Justine Garcia, and Katherine Shen) and 4×400 (with Anika, Justine and Katherine) relay, and took second in the 100m with a 13.28 PR.
