Saratoga Dual Meet Recap

MVTF Burnin’ Up the Track

On Wednesday of this week, Monta Vista Track & Field faced Saratoga High School in our third dual meet of the season. It was a scorcher with temps exceeding 85 degrees, but the Matadors did not let that stop them from winning 3 of the 4 divisions! Varsity boys and both JV teams were victorious with the Varsity ladies taking a narrow loss. Final scores were:

  • VB MVHS – SHS: 78 – 48
  • VG MVHS – SHS: 59 – 66
  • JVB MVHS – SHS: 65 – 26
  • JVG MVHS – SHS: 68 – 49

Track meets are so fun! Your coaches really hope that you all are enjoying this season, because it’s going by fast and you only get four of these, maximum. One way that you can deepen your experience at meets is to get involved with your friends’ and teammates’ performances. Ask them how their races, jumps, and throws went. Tell them about your races, jumps, and throws. Go watch an event that you haven’t and scream and cheer loud for others to show them you support them. When we step out of our “norm” and do something kind and intentional for other people, it gives us a sense of the real community that is around us. Not only that, but it perpetuates a culture of support and kindness – people will remember when you’ve gone out of your way to be kind to them and oftentimes they will pay that same thing forward. So let’s be kind to one another and turn this into a true team!
