This coming Saturday, Monta Vista Cross Country kicks off the 2011 season at the Earlybird Invitational at Toro Park in Salinas. More than 60 teams and 2,000 runners are expected at this race, one of the most competitive and closely watched early season meets in Northern California. No matter when you run, we expect you to be at the meet during the entire day to support your teammates; Monta Vista’s XC team is all for one and one for all! If you see any errors in the entry list, please email Coach Flatow as soon as you can, entries will close soon. We expect every team member to run; if you have a conflict please contact Coach Flatow or Coach Johnson at once and let us know that you can’t attend, and let us know why, please!
Monta Vista has 97 athletes entered in Earlybird; congratulations for a great start! We will be issuing uniforms this week, based on the requests that you supplied last week. If you did not get a uniform request form in to your coaches…well, where were you? We are doing our best but as you can imagine, with 97 runners, if you did not get your form in on time you may not have a uniform for this meet and you may not be able to compete at Earlybird. Please help your coaches now, and in the future, by being on top of all the administrative details that keep our team running.
The following athletes are missing information that prevents them from running in any races or organized workouts; we have still entered you in Earlybird pending this paperwork, however please get this information to Coach Flatow by Tuesday: Brian Wang (medical insurance information), Justin Wang (physical examination form signed by your doctor), Ismaeel Sheriff (code of conduct signed by you and your parents).
