Before I get to writing about the Rustbuster, I wanted to get a very brief note out about the Shootout…the Monta Vista 400 Shootout has become a treasured event for Monta Vista Track and Field over the last five years, and is one of Coach John McKeeman’s favorite days as he has brought trophies and medals to the mix. His enthusiasm comes to a peak during the final heat introductions!
This year’s Shootout brought lots of excitement and some huge PRs as well as a new boys’ all-time record for Eliot Lubomirsky. On the girls’ side, twins Brooke and Bianca Young shared the podium with veteran Reema Apte while the top of the boy’s side included Derek Zheng and Justin Lin along with Eliot.
Who knows who will be in the fast heats next year???
The 400 Shootout is once again a great way to start off another MVTF season.
