Parents, Please Read This!

Parents and Athletes,

As the season gets started, I want to ask you to please, please support the cross country team by joining the Monta Vista Athletic Boosters.  The MVAB is the primary source of funding for the cross country team.  When you join the MVAB in support of your athletes, $40 goes directly to the cross country team account.  You can also donate additional funds directly to the team (much appreciated!) or to the trainer or the MVAB general fund.

Donating to MVAB is incredibly important.   Entry fees for the team to our races are more than $1000 every year.  We purchase high-quality technical training shirts for every member of the team every season.  The uniforms that we loan to the kids every year have a cost of around $250 and we need to put aside money every year to replace these (otherwise we would have to require every athlete to purchase a $250 uniform themselves, yikes).   Generally…athletics are expensive, and the school pretty much leaves it to the coach and parents to figure out how to pay for our teams.

Your donation is tax deductible.  Many companies will also match your donation; if your donation is eligible for an employee match, please contact the MVAB treasurer at treasurer@mvab.org to give them information about the expected match and tell them that your employee match is directed to the cross country team.

Trying to get all the parents to donate is one of the things that takes up a lot of time in the first half of the season.  You can join today, in July, before the season even starts!  Many parents join early and I am so grateful for your attention!  Can you please help out the team, your athlete, and your coach by joining MVAB today???
