Hello Runners!
Everytime I look at Discord and see so many smiling running faces, I feel so happy. So I thought, you know what, I want to do something fun for all these runners. So this week I got on the FUHSD website and filed for a field trip permit for our team to go on a run to Santa Cruz on the Friday before school starts, and I’ve got a bus reserved for us so…let’s go!
The plan would be to go on Friday, August 15. We would meet at the bus circle at 7 AM and load on a bus and drive to Santa Cruz and go on one of my favorite runs along the beach. Everyone would bring a snack for afterwards, and then we would ride back to Cupertino and be home between noon and 1 PM. This would be a great way for our running team to celebrate the end of summer and get ready for the start of school!
Here is what you need to do…
- You will HAVE to complete your athletic clearance–you can’t be at practice or get on the bus to Santa Cruz without being cleared. No exceptions, so please get this done.
- I will need a HARD COPY of this release form signed by your parents (Mel/Aidan/Naomi/Mira/Medha/Myra, can one of you volunteer to start collecting these and keep a list of complete forms so we are not rushing when practice starts?).
I have not received official approval of this trip yet but I expect it will be OK so let’s plan on it for now.
This trip is optional so if you can’t or don’t want to go run on the beach with us, that is OK you can run in Cupertino that day. Please let me know if there is some Friday school commitment I don’t know about.
I think this will be a lot of fun for all of us!
