Cross Country 2017: Clearance Status/First Week Practices!

Hello Runners,

I can’t tell you how much I love our team!  It was great seeing so many of you at Clearance Day today!

Clearance Update

As of 2:21pm on Thursday, 23 boys and 16 girls had completed all their on-line registration and turned in their physical paperwork and are now OFFICIALLY signed up for cross country!  Jeffrey Xu was the first MVXC17 member to complete his paperwork…clearly Jeffrey is ready to roll!  If I was notified that you had completed your clearance and were approved, you should have received an email notification today when I moved your name on to the roster.

If you have not finished getting your clearance done, you can go to the gym on Thursday, August 3 from 10am to 2pm and get signed off by the athletic department!  All the information is available on the Matador site.  If you have have not completed your physical or scheduled your physical yet, the best option is to go with your parents to a walk-in medical clinic that can examine you right away.  You may not join any MVHS team without a current physical signed by a medical doctor!

Practice

There will be practices every day next week!  Whether you have been running diligently this summer or not, there is no better way to get started with practice than to dive in!  Everyone who has completed their athletic clearance can come join practice.  We will all train at our current levels, don’t worry, we are not sending the freshmen out on 12 mile runs their first day*!

All practices meet in the home grandstands at the track.

Monday (August 7):  4pm

Tuesday (August 8):  4pm

Wednesday (August 9):  7am (let’s beat the heat!  And get our bodies back in the habit of waking up early)

Thursday (August 10):  7am

Friday (August 11):  7am

Saturday (August 12):  7am
