Rain was no problem for these distance runners on the first week of the track season.  We were out at Linda Vista for some hill work, and then the next day caught a break in the weather to get in some tempo intervals on the track.

I was on the phone with Josh Cox after the rainy hill workout, and I’d mentioned that I thought some of the runners might have thought I was crazy and/or mean to get us out running in the rain.  His view was, that training on rainy days like this made the days with good weather feel easy.  I said that I always liked running on rainy days, because I figured many of my competitors were taking a day off and I was gaining a day on them.  We are both right!

In any case, we both ended up telling each other how great it was to see all of the runners out their working–and how proud we are of you!

Yes, our team practices in the rain–no problem!
