Monday, Cinco de Mayo, Monta Vista Track & Field took part in Day 1 of the El Camino League Championships. This was the trials day for all the running and hurdling events from 100m to 400m in length; the top 8 in each event move on to the Finals to be held on Wednesday. Also on Monday, finals/championships for all the field events for the frosh-soph boys and junior varsity girls divisions are held, as well as the 3200m finals for those divisions. (In our league, the top 6 finishers score points, the top 5 ‘medal’ or ‘podium’–although we lack a podium! 🙂 ).
Monta Vista had a really stellar day! In the JVG and FSB divisions, the following athletes have already scored for Monta Vista:

Sorry about the mediocre photos; these are all iPhone shots. At Serra Top 7, while trying to go back and forth between photographing the 300h and the shot events, and trying to take some artsy upward aiming photos, I slammed my nice camera on the ground one too many times. I fear it may have given up the ghost! Time for a mirrorless camera I think–I am hard on gear 🙁
