PortlandRunners on the Portland Meadows Cross Country Course compete at NXN

For the last four years, Monta Vista Cross Country has enjoyed the opportunity to travel to the largest high school cross country race in the world–the Mt. SAC Invitational in Los Angeles, California.  This year we want to go back to Mt. SAC…but we are also going to expand our horizons even further!

MVXC is planning our first-ever out-of-state competition next year, as the heralded Monta Vista Varsity teams will travel to Oregon for the Nike Portland XC Invitational!  This is a chance for our athletes to test their abilities on the same course where Nike Cross Nationals is run every December, against teams from throughout Oregon and Washington.  MVXC runners will get a chance to make friends with runners from across the Pacific Northwest and have an elite running experience and memories that will last a lifetime.

To support our team, you can purchase one of these limited edition MVXC travel t-shirts!  Priced at what is admittedly a premium–the price is $30–a full $20 will be used to offset travel costs.  If you are the friend, brother, sister, aunt, grandparent, godparent (you get the idea) of a Varsity athlete, you can designate the $20 to go directly to a specific athlete for their travel to both Portland or the Mt. SAC invitational in Los Angeles later in the season.  If you are a friend of MVXC, a teacher at Monta Vista, an MVXC alum, or simply want a really sweet t-shirt, the funds will go into a general collection to offset the entire team’s travel costs.

These shirts are really nice, soft, and comfortable…and let everyone know where MVXC comes from!  I promise whether you are 16 or 60, you will want one of these shirts (I ordered two!).

Please consider supporting MVXC and our kids as they prepare to go on some real running adventures!  You can order your shirts here  (delivery will be this summer).

If you don’t order a shirt for yourself…I think you will be jealous when you see someone else wearing one!
