Oh my goodness, am I getting excited for our Cross season to get started!  Here’s an update of my plans until then…

For the week of August 4-8, I will drop in on a couple of the student lead summer conditioning sessions that meet at 9am at MV.  I know that many of you are running on your own, and that’s fine, but if you want to start getting together with your teammates this is a good time to start and it would be great to check in with you!  Also, freshmen, I’d enjoy meeting you before the season starts so we have a little more time to talk and get to know each other.

From Monday August 11 to Thursday August 14, I am planning on being at MV every morning at 9am.  These days are all optional conditioning sessions for you, so if you have conflicts with anything at all that week don’t worry (I know there are lots of things going on at school that week so take care of that first, just run in the afternoon on your own or with a buddy).

Our first official practice will be on Friday, August 15, at 3pm…and then when school starts, practice will be every day after school at 3:20pm.

There also will be our first optional Saturday practice on August 16 at 9am.  We will hold optional Saturday practices almost every week that we don’t have a race on Saturday.  While these practices are optional, these practices will benefit the dedicated runner…these will tend to be fairly demanding days that will challenge you.  Our experience has been that on Saturdays we do get more dedicated runners–not all varsity runners, but all the runners who are truly dedicated to improving themselves.  This makes Saturdays really productive–hard, but fun too!  We hope that you join us!

Remember to get all your paperwork done!  Hopefully you have already had your physical, or have yours scheduled!

This is going to be another great year!
