The 2016 Track schedule is now posted!  Check it out…here are a few notes and highlights.

This year we will have five league dual meets, as well as the El Camino League Championships and the SCVAL Championships for those who qualify.  New this year, everyone on the team will compete at the De Anza Invitational on Saturday, March 19; in the past Invitational meets have been  optional, however this year we would like everyone on the team to get the experience of the fun and excitement of bigger meet.  If you are planning on earning PE credit, competing at this meet will be required (or if you have a schedule conflict, we will allow the Fremont Firebird Invitational or MOC as alternatives).

Parents, we will need volunteers to help run our two home meets on March 22 and March 30.  No experience is required, and helping out can be a lot of fun.  With lots of volunteers, the work is not too hard and you really get an up close feeling for the effort that the athletes exert.   Please mark your calendars, we cannot do this without your assistance!  There will be a parent meeting on March 2–we look forward to meeting you then.

There is lots of text in the post…please read it!  The reason we have all this written down is that every year a few issues recur, so we have tried to write down our expectations completely so all athletes know what they are signing up for before they start.

Track and field is the mother of all sports.  Everything we do in track and field–running, jumping, throwing–are natural expressions of what our bodies were made to do.  We love this sport!  See you on the track on February 1 to start another great season!
